The YWCA Jericho is responsible for the following projects
Food production program
Short term vocational training programs
Variety of recreational and fundraising activities.

Food Production Program
YWCA-Jericho endeavours to create job opportunities for needy women in the refugee camps.

To achieve this goal, YWCA-Jericho has been running a food production project, which has been providing women with regular income, since 2001. Moreover, this project aspires to contribute to the requirement of the local market with local food products encouraging Palestinian consumers to stop relying on Israeli food- products. This project is purely Palestinian that even the raw material of our products comes from seasonal crops produced by local Palestinian farmers in Jericho area.

Our high-quality products are produced according to the food-production regulations and under the supervision of food-production specialists.

Marmalade, Jam, ground dates. Molases and syrup Juices
Hwerneh
(fresh Mustard green)
Vegetable pickles
Frozen vegetables
White goat cheese
A variety of dried natural herbs
Pure honey
Spiced za'tar
Kubeh, sambousek and shushbarak
(traditional Palestinian dishes)

Short Term Programs
Expanding youths' vocational skills has always been a priority for YWCA Jericho. Therefore, YWCA Jericho has established its short–term program that offers variety of courses in different fields of computer skills and hairdressing.

Computer courses
These courses run from two to three months.
Introduction to Windows, Access, PowerPoint, and Excel are being offered.

 

Hairdressing Courses
These courses are held twice a year under the supervision of professional experts in the field.
