1964 was the breaking of the ground to build a YWCA branch in Jerusalem. By 1967, YWCA offices were moved to the building from two rented apartments.

The YWCA branch in Jerusalem is considered the headquarters for the YWCA of Palestine as it hosts the National YWCA Office on the second floor of the building.
 

1) Vocational Training Center: In answer to our goal of “Enhancing the accessibility to educational, cultural, and recreational activities”, the Vocational Training Center was established in 1959, and continues to be the main and vital program providing a backbone of support for the Palestinian women in the community. The Center currently offers three different programs:

  a) Secretarial and Office Management.
  b) Public Health Care.
  c) Food Preparation and Catering

Throughout the year, numerous programs are organized for children, youth, and young women. Summer camps are an annual event, with activities like swimming, football, Dabkeh, recreational trips, and overnight camping. Special summer camps are organized for integrating physically challenged children into the society, alongside their peers.
